| December 1985 | Started as the network service unit within IBM Japan, Ltd., and sold/provided VAN (Value Added Network) for enterprises who owned mainframe computers. In 1990's, shifted the business area to Internet services and IP based corporate networks. |

| December 1999 | Due to AT&T's global acquisition of IBM networking business, AT&T Global Network Service Japan KK was established. (company name was changed to AT&T Japan KK in Aug/2007.) Organized the Network Outsourcing Service structure and provided the service to broad range of local customers, along with AT&T global networking products. |
| September 2010 | By Internet Initiative Japan Inc.'s acquisition of AT&T Japan's local Network Outsourcing service business, IIJ Global Solutions Inc. was established. |
| January 2012 | "IIJ Global Solutions China Inc." was established in Shanghai, following the establishment of the "IIJ Global Solutions Inc., Bangkok Representative Office" in September 2011. |
| July 2012 | "IIJ Global Solutions (Thailand) Co., Ltd" was established in Bangkok. |
| November 2012 | Established "IIJ Global Solutions Hong Kong Limited" and "IIJ Global Solutions Singapore Pte. Ltd." |
| January 2015 | "PT. IIJ Global Solutions Indonesia" was established in Jakarta. |
| November 2016 | "IIJ Global Solutions Vietnam Company Limited" was established in Hanoi. |
